In the fast - paced world of today, there is no skill that is more important that the skill of
overcoming anxiety. This skill has saved me from numerous breakdowns in my life. It is of utmost importance that everyone, especially those in the 20+ age brackets, develop their strategies in overcoming anxiety.
A person who hasn’t felt stressed at least once in his life is either lying, or a dead man. We all experience it, day in and day out. And as unique as everyone is, we all react to stress uniquely. And even with all our coping mechanisms and ways to divert this stress, there are times that we cannot help but feel anxious and worried. And its because of this failure to overcome anxiety that we develop further problems - these include panic attacks, feelings of despair, and the like. This can become a great obstacle in our daily quest to get through our daily routines. And it is because of this that you must become good at
overcoming anxiety.
But don’t misunderstand, overcoming anxiety doesn’t mean actually removing all sources of stress and becoming stress free your entire life. You can never remove stress from your life, because it is a normal, everyday phenomenon. It is a sign that we are alive. As I have said earlier, if you don’t feel any kind of stress, its either you are a liar or a dead man. The correct approach in overcoming anxiety is to understand where this anxiety is coming from, and prevent it from spiraling out of control. Always remember that no matter how bad things may seem to get, you can get through it in one piece. The most important thing in overcoming anxiety is how one reacts to the stress.
As different as we all are, anxiety also has its different effects on all of us. But remember that these effects were results of a similar problem, and become worse in a similar way. Our diverse way of overcoming anxiety is a direct result of many different factors. But what we all have in common is that the way we respond to these problems is determined by the way we have dealt with past experiences. This means that we are doing the same way of dealing with anxiety, through in ironically different ways.
In our pursuit for a proper way in
overcoming anxiety, it is probably best for you to use the means that are easily accessible for you. It all depends on your lifestyle, because we all have our own unique ways of dealing with problems. You might be enticed to ask for professional help from experts. They might prescribe medicine, or meditations, or some diet regime to regulate your body chemicals, but these are only unnecessary expenses. In the end, you will have to rely on yourself. No amount of medicine, meditations, mantras or diet will help you overcome being nervous and anxious. It all boils down to you to defeat your inner demons. You have to face overcoming anxiety on your own, with your own willpower.
